George Upper

When Uncle Joe came home to Port Dalhousie my cousins and I lined up for quarters in Aunt Fran;s kitchen.  Then, similar to horses in a race, we made a mad dash to Brock and Main to buy candy from Mrs. Thomson.

Patiently she looked after each one of us until we were all satisfied.  If we ate candy, we couldn't swim for an hour, but that didn't bother us.  It made for a slow pleasant walk to Lakeside Park.
